    Bayan-Olgii is home to unique cultures, stunning scenery, and diverse wildlife. Eagle hunting, traditional Kazakh culture, and nomadic herding live in the shadows of the highest snow-capped mountains and largest glaciers in Mongolia, along with countless wild species including bears, wolves, foxes, eagles, wild sheep, ibex, and the illusive snow leopards. Explore this land by foot, horse, camel, jeep, mountain bike, or whitewater raft. Climb its many mountains and maybe even ski down one. ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrive Ulaanbaatar

At the local airport, you’ll meet your English-speaking guide and driver.

Pick up from airport and transfer to  Ulaanbaatar hotel

  • Visit national history museum
  • City tour around Ulaanbaatar
  • Zaisan memorial hill
  • Dinner at a Mongolian traditional restaurant
  • Day 2 Ulaanbaatar – UlgiiAltai town

 Next flight Ulgii City, in the Bayan-Ulgii province of  Western Mongolia. At the local airport, you’ll meet your English-speaking guide,  and driver.

  • Early morning, fly to Bayan-Ulgii
  • Have a city tour in Ulgii town,
  • Visit a local museum
  • After lunch go to supermarket and black market /Keruen sarai restoran/
  • Then go to nomadic area Eagle Hunters Home in Altai town /130km/
  • Dinner traditional food /BesBarmak/

Day 3-6  Ulgii-Altai  /Kazakh nomadic  family, eagle hunters/

  • Day 7  Golden mini–Eagle Festival

Golden mini–Eagle Festival mostly continues 1 days. These days we will attend the mini–Golden Eagle Festival 10 eagle hunters. Festivities begin with the hunter’s mini parade, displaying their hunting outfits, accessories and traditional dress, and includes competitions between the hunters and their eagles, demonstrating the special relationship between the trainer and his bird. Watch first-hand as the hunters pamper their birds and cheer for them during the competitions. Overnight accommodations will be the Ger /Ger/B/L/D).

Mini Golden Eagle Festival

  Day 8-9 Altai-Khoton Khurgan lakes

Today we’ll drive to Khoton and Khurgan  Lakes, stopping for lunch on the way, and spending the night at the camping site on Biluut Hill.  Here you will find ancient rock carvings of  Turkic origin, 1500-2000 years old. Khoton and Khurgan lakes are second largest and  clearest  of all lakes in the Mongolia, the average depth is 26 m, the maximum depth is approximately 58 m, Khoton lake has one Iceland which is covered by woods, the system of Khoton lake and Khurgan lakes connected by wide channel. The landscape around the lakes is very beautiful and picturesque surrounded by snow-capped mountains. 190km (Ger/B/L/D)

Day 8 Altai- White River Altai National Park

Drive to White River Valley. We will have a chance to visit Tuvan people, who are a separate ethnic and cultural group within Mongolia, live a nomadic life, and practice Shamanism. About 200km ( Tuva family /B/L/D)

Day 9-10 Altai Tavan-Bogd-Glaciers rivers

/The Altai region is a mountainous area located on the territory of Mongolia, Eastern Siberia, Kazakhstan and China.

The mountain peak at Altai Tavan Bogd is located at an altitude of 4374 meters, and it is the highest point above sea level in Mongolia and is called Khuiten.

Most scientists believe that the mountain name comes from the word “mountain with gold.”

The glaciers are located at an altitude of 3,500-4,000 meters above sea level. The largest glaciers are the Potanin Glacier, Alexander Glacier, Greny Glacier. They stretch 16 kilometers in length and are the source of the Tsagaan River. The five highest peaks of Altai Tavan Bogd mountain are Khuiten peak 4374 meters, Friendship peak 4082 meters, Herdsman peak 4037 meters, Eagle peak 4068 meters, and Ulgiy peak 4050 meters. In plpp1956, mountaineers of Mongolia conquered the Altai Tavan Bogd peak for the first time. Since then, more than 700 climbers have conquered these peaks and they have become the favorite peaks for domestic and foreign mountaineers./

Riding Hours and Camel  to the Tavan Bogd Base Camp for approximately five hours. The landscape around the base is breathtaking, accentuated by Mongolia’s longest glaciers and snow-capped mountains.

/ Today we will hike 18km to the base camp of the Tavan Bogd. Our luggage will be transported by camels and their Tuvan handlers who are very friendly and helpful. En route, from 5-6 km away we will see Potanin and Alexander Glaciers, as well as ice peaks. Base camp is 3,000 m. Camel support. (Tent /B/L/D)/

/ Free day for the customers to take a rest and enjoy with wonderfull mountain view and Glacier exploration. It is possible to hike to the Russian and the Mongolian border pole/.

Day 11 Return to Ulgii

Today we will back to the White River valley and meet the drivers.

We will say goodbye to our Tuvian friends and take the 7-hour drive back to Ulgii.

Overnight you can stay either in our own Ger Camp or at hotel and take a good hot shower. 170km

Day 12 Ulgii-Ulaanbaatar

-Early Morning back to Ulaanbaatar by domestic fight
-After Lunch, to Cashmere Outlet and

-The biggest supermarket in Ulaanbaatar E-MART
-Breakfast               : Hotel Takeaway Breakfast

-Lunch/Dinner          : Ulaanbaatar Restaurant

-Accommodation     : Hotel at Ulaanbaatar

 Day 13 Departure from Ulaanbaatar

Tour vehicles

The tour includes a round-way domestic flight to western Mongolia. Regarding the land transport, tour was designed with four wheels driving Russian vans, driven by experienced, friendly, and good mechanic-drivers. Different car types are available upon request for private tours. You may check the travel vehicle details at Mongolia transportation.
