Travel in Mongolia is an adventurous experience–but not very physically demanding except for long drives on bumpy roads. The specific experience required for some of the activities is listed below. For those not interested in horseback riding or camel trekking, alternate activities such as hiking or driving to certain landmarks in the area can be arranged.
Horseback Riding:
While horse trekking, we will be riding Mongolian horses, generally smaller and leaner than we may be used to, but legendary for their sturdy build, great energy and ability to negotiate difficult terrain.
Day 1: Ulaanbaatar-Chinggis Khaan Statue-13th Century-Terelj Our first stop is The Great Statue of Chinggis Khan.
A driver and tour guide will pick you up from your hotel at the arranged time. We will travel about 1.5 hours to the great statue of Chinggis Khan where the fun begins. This statue is not only the largest statue of Chinggis Khan in Mongolia, but also in the entire world. Its height is 40 meters (130 feet). From the visitor’s center, the top of the statue is accessible by elevator. This vantage point provides great photo opportunities. Next, we will go to 13th Century National Park. Getting to know and experience the Mongolian way of life, religion, customs, traditions, and military activities of the 13th Century in its genuine environment is much better than watching it on TV, at a movie, theater or reading about it in books. Many people wish to escape today’s urban life, metropolitan hectic schedules, noisy and polluted cities to a fresh and peaceful environment. “13th Century National Park” aims to provide you with these opportunities by welcoming you to its micro (macro) kingdom. You will be amazed as you watch, feel and experience the 13th Century’s Mongolian lifestyle. The six (6) different camp areas offer insights on early Mongolian state affairs, livestock breeding, traditions, customs, garments, etc.Lunch will be served in 13th Century National Park.
